30 + 1 English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Courses
The EAP courses are specially designed for students who need to study in an English-speaking country or English-medium graduate/post-graduate program.
The 30 + 1 hour courses (31 hours in total) are conducted at four levels:
Upper-Elementary (IELTS 3.5+) (combines General English)
Pre-Intermediate (IELTS 4.0+)
Intermediate (IELTS 5.0+)
Upper-Intermediate (IELTS 6.0+)
Each EAP course focuses on specific language and study-skills:
EAP Reading & Writing
EAP Speaking & Listening
EAP Mixed Skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
All courses include 2 x 30-minute individual tutorials with your instructor so you can work on your own areas of interest or weakness. At the end of the course you will be able to:
read and understand a range of academic texts including reports, journals, essays, tables, charts and graphs
write accurate reports, dissertations and lecture notes
listen for key information in lecture and seminar situations
speak confidently in academic presentations, debates and information giving / gathering sessions
The courses also aim to help you build up language and skills that are tested in the IELTS exam
